2022 Open Gardens

Brigh Spring Festival - 068.jpg

Our Open for 2022 are sponsored by Alpine Perennials

Alpine Perennials Nursery are proud to sponsor the 2022 Spring Festival Open Gardens!

With over 30 years of horticultural experience, Craig and Julie Hulbert bring extensive nursery and landscaping expertise to the Alpine region. Located in Harrietville, we are specialist growers of beautiful flowering plants and shrubs. Since opening in September 2021, the nursery has experienced great support from locals and tourists alike. The majority of our plants are grown onsite and are already acclimatised to the unique conditions of the Alpine region. A large range of plants grown in the nursery are also suitable for Melbourne and surrounding areas.

Alpine Perennials Nursery is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10:00am to 4:00pm and is located at 1828 Great Alpine Road, Harrietville. We are a pet friendly nursery and as we are just across the way from the Rail Trail, cyclists are welcome too! Visits outside of our standard times are by appointment only.

We are working on a very full list of Open Gardens for you to visit during the Festival.  We will update this site as we confirm the gardens.

 Buffalo River Native Nursery

9 Merriang South Road, Myrtleford

Open: October 26 & 27, November 1, 3 & 5 - 9am to 5pm

Entry : $2

We have a five acre block on the corner of Buffalo River Road and the Merriang South Road in Myrtleford that backs onto the Buffalo River. The garden is about 30 years old and contains mostly native plants with a small orchard and vegetable plots.

Plants include grevillea, callistemon, eremophila, banksias, waratah, several ferns and a large range of kangaraoo paws.

Several indigenous plants grow along the river. We have recently developed an area to showcase more difficult to grow species.  We also run a small native nursery with heaps of plants available for purchase.
